Early Life and Education
Olivia Paige Dunne was born on October 1, 2002, in Westwood, New Jersey, and she grew up in Hillsdale, New Jersey. Her parents are Katherine and David Dunne. Her father played Division I football at Rutgers University, while her mother was a gymnast and cheerleader. She has an older sister, Julianna Dunne, who also participated in sports, playing softball.
Dunne began training in gymnastics at the age of three. To dedicate more time to her intensive training schedule, she was homeschooled by her mother starting at the age of 14, following the Abeka Academy curriculum. She trained at the Eastern National Academy of Paramus under coaches Craig and Jennifer Zappa. After high school, Dunne enrolled at Louisiana State University (LSU) on a full athletic scholarship, where she majored in interdisciplinary studies and completed her bachelor’s degree. Due to safety concerns arising from her public profile, she transitioned to online classes.
Gymnastics Career
Junior Elite Career
Dunne’s competitive gymnastics career began at an early age. She made her elite debut at the 2014 U.S. Classic. By the age of nine, she was competing at level 9 and reached the regional championships. In 2017, Dunne was selected for the U.S. junior national team and competed at the City of Jesolo Trophy in Italy, where the U.S. team won a gold medal. She also competed in the 2016 and 2017 P&G Championships, achieving top-10 finishes in both the floor and beam events.
Senior and Collegiate Career
In 2018, Dunne transitioned to the senior elite level. She signed her National Letter of Intent with Louisiana State University in November 2019 and joined the LSU Tigers gymnastics team for the 2020-21 season.
During her freshman year, she earned All-America honors on the uneven bars and competed in every regular-season meet on that apparatus. She posted a score of 9.90 on bars at the NCAA Championships. Throughout her collegiate career, she competed on bars and floor, matching her career-high score of 9.925 on bars in 2022. In 2024, she was part of the LSU team that won the program’s first-ever NCAA national championship. Dunne took a fifth year of eligibility granted to athletes affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Her gymnastics career concluded in April 2025 due to an avulsion fracture in her kneecap.
Social Media and Business Ventures
Dunne joined TikTok in 2020, initially posting gymnastics content before broadening her posts to include other aspects of her life. Her social media presence grew substantially, making her one of the most-followed NCAA athletes.
Following the NCAA’s policy change on July 1, 2021, which allowed student-athletes to profit from their name, image, and likeness (NIL), Dunne secured numerous endorsement deals. Her brand partnerships have included companies such as American Eagle, Bodyarmor, and Vuori. She also founded The Livvy Fund, an initiative aimed at helping female student-athletes at LSU secure their own NIL deals. Her sister, Julianna, has been involved in managing her social media presence and business operations.
