Early Life and Immigration

Patrick Bet-David was born in Tehran, Iran, on October 18, 1978, to an Assyrian father and an Armenian mother. His family’s life was upended by the turmoil of the Iranian Revolution and the subsequent Iran-Iraq War. In 1989, seeking to escape the conflict, his family fled Iran. They spent approximately two years in a refugee camp in Erlangen, West Germany, before immigrating to the United States around 1990. The family settled in Glendale, California.

After graduating from high school, Bet-David enlisted in the United States Army and served in the 101st Airborne Division. He has credited his military service with instilling a sense of discipline that influenced his later career. Following his time in the army, he briefly attended community college but chose to leave to begin a career in finance.

Financial Industry Beginnings

Bet-David’s career in finance started with positions at Morgan Stanley and later the Transamerica Corporation. On September 10, 2001, he began as a financial advisor at a Morgan Stanley Dean Witter branch in Glendale. These roles provided him with foundational experience in the financial services industry. After several years working for traditional financial companies, he was inspired to create his own enterprise.

PHP Agency and Entrepreneurship

In 2009, at the age of 30, Bet-David founded PHP Agency (an acronym for People Helping People), a financial services marketing company. The firm, which focuses on life insurance and annuities, launched with an initial group of 66 agents. Under his leadership, PHP Agency expanded significantly, growing to include tens of thousands of agents across the United States. In 2022, PHP Agency was acquired by Integrity Marketing Group, with Bet-David becoming a Managing Partner at Integrity as part of the acquisition.

Valuetainment and Media Career

A video titled “The Life of an Entrepreneur in 90 Seconds” brought significant attention to the channel, accumulating over 30 million views online.

Valuetainment evolved into a broader media company, featuring interviews with a wide range of high-profile figures, including business leaders, politicians, and celebrities. The brand expanded to include the “PBD Podcast,” which discusses business, current events, politics, and culture. Bet-David has also authored several books on business strategy, including the Wall Street Journal bestseller “Your Next Five Moves.”
