Ganapathy Ramaswamy, worked as an engineer for General Electric, while his mother, Geetha Ramaswamy, was a geriatric psychiatrist.
Ramaswamy was raised in Ohio and attended public schools until the eighth grade. He then enrolled at St. Xavier High School in Cincinnati, a Catholic Jesuit institution, where he graduated as valedictorian in 2003. During his high school years, he was a nationally ranked junior tennis player.
He went on to attend Harvard University, where he graduated summa cum laude in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in biology and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. At Harvard, he was known for his libertarian views and served as the president of the Harvard Political Union. In 2013, he earned a Juris Doctor degree from Yale Law School.
