Tomi Rae Augustus Lahren was born on August 11, 1992, in Rapid City, South Dakota. She is of German and Norwegian descent. Her parents, Kevin and Trudy Lahren, both came from families with ranching backgrounds. Lahren was raised in a military family and is their only child.

Lahren graduated from Central High School in 2010. She then attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, graduating in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in broadcast journalism and political science. During her time at the university, she hosted and was an associate producer for the political roundtable show The Scramble. She also served as the first intern at the Rapid City office of Republican Congresswoman Kristi Noem.

Career Beginnings

After college, Tomi Rae Augustus Lahren applied for an internship at One America News Network (OANN). Instead of an internship, she was offered the opportunity to host her own political talk show. She moved to San Diego, California, and her show, On Point with Tomi Lahren, debuted in August 2014.

In 2015, a video of her commentary on the Chattanooga shootings garnered significant public attention. Later that year, she moved to Texas to begin a new show with TheBlaze, which premiered in November 2015.
