His father, Dell Curry, is a former professional basketball player, and his mother, Sonya Curry, played volleyball in college at Virginia Tech. From a young age, Wardell Stephen Curry II was exposed to basketball, often practicing with his father. His mother was instrumental in instilling discipline in his training. He has a younger brother, Seth Curry, who is also a professional basketball player, and a sister, Sydel Curry, who played volleyball at Elon University.
