Matt Walsh was born on June 18, 1986, in Baltimore County, Maryland. He is a practicing Catholic. After completing high school, Walsh did not pursue a college degree and instead began a career in radio.

Radio Career and Blog

Walsh started his career in media as a talk radio host. He co-hosted “The Matt and Crank Program” at WZBH 93.5 FM in Georgetown, Delaware, beginning in early 2010. He later moved to another Delaware station, WGMD 92.7 FM. In 2012, he relocated to Lexington, Kentucky, where he worked at NewsRadio 630 WLAP and launched “The Matt Walsh Blog.” On his blog, he wrote about various social and political issues from a conservative viewpoint. In December 2013, his radio show was canceled, and he announced he would focus on blogging.

Rise to Prominence

In 2014, Walsh joined Blaze Media, founded by Glenn Beck. He began writing for The Daily Wire, a conservative website co-founded by Ben Shapiro, in 2017. His profile grew through his writings and appearances on various talk shows. In 2018, he started hosting The Matt Walsh Show, a daily podcast and video series for The Daily Wire, which significantly expanded his audience and influence within the conservative movement.
